Cream represented a generation of world-class music and extensive parties which took the underground authenticity into the mainstream, creating an everlasting impact globally. Cream’s relaunch in 2026 would be permanent, a powerful cultural institution which reclaimed its leadership in modern electronic music. A modern Cream wouldn’t be a return to nostalgia but a tribute to the club’s history in defining a space where music moves forward.
The Cream Relaunch adopts the idea of an ‘international scouser’, a term referring to a person from Liverpool (a Scouser) who is part of the global Scouse diaspora—living, working, or travelling far from the city, yet retaining their distinctive accent, humour, and cultural identity. This idea helps the relaunch connect to its international roots whilst remaining credible to its liverpuddlian heritage. The Relaunch is presented over a series of posters: Teasers, the initial launch and lineups for the opening weekend. Scouse language translated into international language assists the idea of the ‘international scouser’, whilst images of clubbers support and install the language used as the voice of the people.
